The iPhone foldable prototype is rumored to be completed

Foldable screen phones are not new in the Android world. Many major manufacturers have launched foldable dual-screen smart phones. Recently, news has spread that Apple has also begun to develop related technologies and has completed the prototype of the foldable iPhone. The machine is now being sent to Foxconn for testing.

The whistleblower Jon Prosser recently pointed out that Apple is developing a foldable iPhone prototype, and its technology is different from Samsung. It does not use a flexible single screen like the Galaxy Fold, but connects two independent screens through a hinge. , And its appearance will be similar to the iPhone 11, using a round stainless steel edge instead of the iPhone 12’s lunch meat design, but there is no bangs design, only a small forehead for Face ID on the outside of the screen.

It is said that Apple has begun sending this iPhone prototype to Foxconn for testing. It requires Foxconn to evaluate the device’s bearings, that is, the folding parts. The ideal number of opening and closing tests is more than 100,000 times, which is more than 2 times that of ordinary laptops. Ten thousand to 30,000 times is a lot more. In addition, this test also involves evaluating the use of OLED or Micro-LED technology to determine subsequent assembly methods.

It is estimated that this product will be released in September 2022. Although there is not much information currently available, it is said that Samsung will provide a screen, which is in line with the rumors that Apple has ordered a foldable screen sample from it. In addition, Apple actually applied for a patent for its folding screen technology as early as 2016.
