AirPods Max foreign media teardown reveals the secret behind the expensive price

As in the past, the products released by Apple have higher prices, and AirPods Max is no exception, even if the pricing has been disputed by many people. The electronics repair company iFixit finally ended its one-month investigation and dismantling of AirPods Max yesterday. The secrets they discovered can at least prove that the price of US$550 is reasonable to some extent.

The AirPods Max earmuff cushions are magnetically fixed in place. Apple sells substitutes for this product, so it is easier to remove. Unfortunately, the joystick is installed nearby, and the rest of the disassembly has become difficult and very tedious. Due to the large number and variety of screws involved, technicians are required to be equipped with a full set of screwdriver bits to repair AirPods Max.

What impressed the iFixit team most is the hinge part of the headset, which is as fine as the watch parts. They accidentally discovered that the AirPods Max headband can be removed by using the SIM Ejector Pin, which confirms the rumors that the headphone headbands are interchangeable, but Apple eventually abandoned this plan. Therefore, users who try to remove the headband from AirPods Max by themselves need to be careful, because it is not clear whether this behavior will invalidate product maintenance.
